PROFESSOR BABATUNDE OLUFEMI OKE

Professor Babatunde Olufemi Oke is a distinguished academic with a specialization in Development Finance and Financial Markets. He has served as the Head of the Department of Finance at UNILAG from August 2020 to July 2022.

Professor Oke holds a B.Sc. in Economics (1987), an M.Sc. in Economics (1990), an M.Sc. in Finance (2002), and a Ph.D. in Finance (2014) from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (ACS), and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments, UK (MCSI).

A member of the UNILAG Senate, Professor Oke is currently on the Board of UNILAG Consultancy Services Ltd. (UNILAG Consult Ltd). He previously served on the Board of the Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) at UNILAG from 2021 to 2023.

With nearly three decades of experience in banking, consulting, and academia, Professor Oke is a prolific writer and a sought-after seminar speaker. He has published extensively in both local and international academic journals and has presented numerous papers at conferences. Additionally, he serves as an external examiner for multiple universities across the country.

Outside academia, Professor Oke is a committed Christian, happily married, and blessed with children.
