Effective local governance is the cornerstone of inclusive development and sustainable nation-building. Jointly administered by the Citadel School of Government and the University of Lagos Business School, the Certificate in Local Governance and Administration is designed specifically for Local Government Chairpersons, Councillors, and Senior Administrative Officers who are determined to improve policy execution, strengthen public institutions, and deliver impactful services at the grassroots.
This practical, solutions-focused programme equips participants with policy frameworks, administrative tools, and strategic leadership insights tailored to the realities of local governance in Nigeria and Africa. Participants will explore innovative models and peer-reviewed approaches to enhance institutional performance and deepen citizen engagement.
This programme is delivered through two flexible pathways:
– Institutional Collaboration: Local Government Councils, State Governments, and Local Government Associations can partner with CSG to design and host tailored training sessions aligned with the unique needs of their officials.
– Individual Application: Local government professionals may also apply directly for open enrolment into our next training cohort.
 Certification: Issued by the University of Lagos Business School in affiliation with Citadel School of Government.
