Mr. Segun Oloketuyi

Mr Segun Oloketuyi is a consummate banker and corporate leader with over three decades of banking and managerial experience. He retired in September 2018 as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank Plc, where he successfully steered the bank through a period of transformation and oversaw the launch of ALAT, Nigeria’s first fully digital bank.

Mr Oloketuyi began his professional career in 1985 as an Audit Trainee with Akintola Williams & Co. (now Deloitte & Touche) before moving into banking, where he held several senior leadership positions, including Executive Director of Prudent Bank Plc and Managing Director of Bond Bank Limited.

He holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a Postgraduate Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, an MBA from the Lagos Business School, and is an alumnus of the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Institute of Directors (IoD), and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), he is recognised as a distinguished professional in finance and corporate governance.

Mr Oloketuyi currently serves as Chairman of Japaul Gold & Ventures Plc and as a Non-Executive Director of Chams Holding Company Plc and Greenwich Merchant Bank.

A recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Merit Award of the University of Lagos (2007) and the Deloitte Distinguished Alumni Award (2015), he remains a respected figure in Nigeria’s corporate and financial sectors, continuing to provide strategic guidance and board-level leadership. Mr. Segun Oloketuyi is a member of the Advisory Board of Citadel School of Government.
